Mottled Duskywing Final

This is the final repeat design for the mottled duskywing
While choosing my triadic colour way for my repeat design I noticed that this design does not work well with bright colours. I found that earth tones such as browns, greens and yellows were much more suitable for the design and brought it all together giving it a simple and clean look.
However for the background and motif I also initially went for a simple look as well and it looked very plain as if it was missing something when put together with the colour way. I then decided to add complexity to the designs by tracing each detail of the butterfly, its wings and the tiny details on leaves. I found that this gave the design a perfect balance between the simple colour choices and complexity of the designs in comparison which fit in with the theme as it is a complex issue that requires consideration and conversation to allow for sustainable change.
